New deals for J&J's Asia-Pacific Innovation Center

Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) launched its Asia Pacific Innovation Center, the fourth of J&J's centers. Located in Shanghai with satellite offices in Singapore, Australia and Japan, the center will identify early stage innovations in the areas of pharmaceuticals, consumer healthcare products, and medical devices and diagnostics, and accelerate their development through dealmaking. The center already has six academic partnerships in Australia and China.

J&J's Janssen Australia subsidiary will work with James Cook University in Queensland to study proteins produced by hookworms to treat inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The center also is extending an existing collaboration with the University of Queensland to explore using peptides derived from spider venom to manage pain. ...
