Pfizer's Read expecting rebate elimination

Chairman and CEO of Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE) Ian Read expects President Donald Trump and the administration to eliminate rebates, the exec said Tuesday on Pfizer's 2Q18 earnings call.

Read said the current rebate structure is not sustainable and that eliminating rebates would be "very beneficial," especially for companies launching new products. "I would see rebates going away and the system accommodating itself to negotiations on value and net price."...
