iPierian raises $22M, names Venuti CEO

iPierian Inc. (South San Francisco, Calif.) raised $22 million in a series B round led by new investor Google Ventures. Mitsubishi UFJ Capital and ATEL Ventures, also new investors, joined all existing investors, including Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers; Highland Capital Partners; MPM Capital; and FinTech Global Capital. iPierian uses induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cell technology to discover therapeutics through cellular reprogramming and directed differentiation of patient cells.
