Berkeley Lights makes debut with $90M

Berkeley Lights Inc. (Emeryville, Calif.) said it has raised a total of $90 million in three rounds of funding from investors including Sequoia Capital and Walden Riverwood Ventures. Chief Corporate Development Officer Grant Yonehiro told BioCentury the company recently closed a $56.5 million series C round, but did not provide more specific details.

The company develops nanofluidic instruments that use its OptoSelect light technology for massively parallel single cell sorting, selection, real-time assaying, culturing and recovery.
