Mouse and cell culture studies suggest ANG4043, a conjugate of the brain-penetrant peptide angiopep-2 and an anti-HER2 mAb, could help treat brain cancer. In mice with HER2-positive brain tumors, IV infusion of ANG4043 resulted in accumulation of the conjugate in the brain and increased survival compared with an unconjugated anti-HER2 mAb or vehicle.
