Cell culture studies suggest inhibiting DDOST, GNB2L1, RPS25 or OST could help treat dengue fever, West Nile virus and Zika virus infections. Screening of an siRNA library in dengue virus-infected HeLa cells found knockdown of OST component DDOST, GNB2L1 and RPS25 decreased viral replication compared with non-specific siRNA. In HeLa cells infected with West Nile virus or Zika virus, siRNA targeting DDOST, GNB2L1 or a tool compound OST inhibitor decreased viral replication compared with non-specific siRNA or no treatment. In dengue-infected HeLa cells, primary human skin fibroblasts and a human dendritic cell line, the OST inhibitor decreased viral replication compared with no treatment. ...
