How TSLP contributes to breast tumor cell growth

A team from the Benaroya Research Institute has demonstrated that the TSLP signaling pathway could be a new target to treat breast cancer.

Thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP) has shown conflicting roles in the context of cancer. While prior studies have demonstrated that elevated TSLP expression has antitumor effects in skin and colon cancer, and has an inhibitory effect on the early development of breast tumors, others have associated TSLP with the progression of breast, pancreatic, gastric and cervical cancer, and the mechanisms by which TSLP up-regulation induced pro-tumor effects were not known. ...
