Actikerall fluorouracil/salicylic acid regulatory update

The Scottish Medicines Consortium recommended the use of Actikerall fluorouracil/salicylic acid from Almirall on the National Health Service (NHS) in Scotland to treat slightly palpable and/or moderately thick hyperkeratotic actinic keratosis (AK) in immunocompetent adult patients - its approved indication. The consortium said Actikerall was superior to Solaraze diclofenac 3% gel on the histological clearance of a target actinic keratosis lesion.
