BioChem, Briana, Qualia Computing Inc. deal

BCHE and BIA formed a partnership to develop and commercialize BIA's Second Look computerized mammogram analysis system to detect breast cancer, as well as other detection applications. BIA licensed the system from Qualia last year (see BioCentury, May 5, 1997). BIA transferred its exclusive worldwide rights to the system to a new company that will be 45 percent owned by BIA and 55 percent owned by BCHE.
