China-U.S. research collaboration launched
Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the University at Buffalo, Roswell Park Cancer Institute and three universities in southeast China established a consortium to facilitate development in biotechnology and translational medicine.
The partnership will focus on cancer, genomics, translational medicine and related areas in biotechnology. Hong Kong Polytechnic University told BioCentury the partners will start with developing medical devices, including medical textiles and glue, but will move to projects that emphasize comparative genomic studies, second generation DNA data analysis systems, vaccines and new antibiotics.
