GNS Healthcare, Marin Community Foundation neurology news

Orion Bionetworks, a not-for-profit alliance of public-private partners, debuted to develop predictive models to better understand brain and CNS diseases, including multiple sclerosis. GNS Healthcare also joined the alliance and will use its Reverse Engineering and Forward Simulation (REFS) technology to develop computational models of MS using clinical, biomarker and imaging data from over 7,000 patients, with the aim of better understanding the underlying biology of MS to guide the development of personalized treatments. Last year, the Janssen Research & Development LLC unit of Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ, New Brunswick, N.J.) committed $5.4 million in funding to the Marin Community Foundation for the project as part of the pharma's Healthy Minds initiative (see BioCentury, July 16, 2012). ...
