Acousia's small molecules to generate hair cells for hearing loss

Acousia Therapeutics GmbH is developing small molecules to treat sensorineural hearing loss that could lead to better speech perception than a clinical-stage gene therapy that also aims to regenerate hair cells.

With an investment from the Boehringer Ingelheim Venture Fund and expertise from otolaryngologist Hubert Löwenheim, Acousia set out to develop small molecules that could restore the normal architecture of the inner ear.
