CDER's Axelrad to retire

Janet Woodcock, director of FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, announced in an internal memo that CDER Associate Director for Policy Jane Axelrad will retire April 29. Axelrad held the position for nearly 25 years.

Axelrad was also director of CDER's Office of Regulatory Policy for more than 18 years. She negotiated four PDUFA reauthorizations and worked to enact compounding provisions in the 2013 Drug Quality and Security Act following the 2012 fungal meningitis outbreak. ...
