Extracorporeal filtration of blood to remove an aberrant form of alpha interferon data

Four individuals with advanced AIDS tolerated the procedure in five daily treatments, and the device absorbed the interferon from the patients' plasma, the company reported. Two patients showed lower viral load of HIV of one or two log units; the other two showed a significant reduction in tumor necrosis factor.

The study for the first time allowed enough of the interferon to be collected to allow analysis, and it appears to be a unique protein, ADVB said. ...
