VRTX and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Therapeutics, the drug discovery arm of the foundation, expanded their 2000 deal to discover therapeutics to treat CF. VRTX will receive $21 million in contract research payments in 2004 and 2005 and is eligible for a milestone upon the first compound reaching the clinic.
