Takeda to acquire URL Pharma

Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. (Tokyo:4502) will acquire URL Pharma Inc. (Philadelphia, Pa.) for $800 million up front, plus undisclosed contingent payments. Takeda will gain gout drug Colcrys colchicine, which the pharma said had more than $430 million in 2011 net sales. URL Pharma had 2011 total revenues of about $600 million. ...
