Injection of a DNA vector encoding a dengue antibody prevented dengue infection

A team at Inovio Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ:INO) has found a way to get around the inconsistent expression of DNA vectors that has hampered their use in delivering antibodies, and believes the method could be used broadly to create antibodies for infectious diseases and cancer.

According to COO Niranjan Sardesai, earlier DNA vaccine technology did not elicit consistent and robust responses when tested in the clinic.
