California legislature passes bill capping co-pays

The California Assembly passed AB 339, a bill that would limit insurance co-pays for covered outpatient specialty drug prescriptions to $250 for a single 30-day prescription. The state's Senate passed the bill on Sept. 10; the bill now heads to Governor Jerry Brown.

The bill, authored by Assembly member Rich Gordon, also would prohibit formularies from placing most or all drugs for a particular disease in their highest cost tiers. ...
