GSK investigating 'alleged issues' for published paper

GlaxoSmithKline plc (LSE:GSK; NYSE:GSK) said it is "carrying out an internal investigation into some alleged issues related to a scientific paper." The pharma declined to disclose further details, including which paper it is investigating. A post allegedly by a former GSK employee that appears on several Chinese websites claims that a interleukin-7 (IL-7) in autoimmune disease used fraudulent data. The post alleges that one of the paper's co-authors, Jingwu Zang, SVP and head of R&D China at GSK, has left the pharma. An email sent to Zang's GSK address bounced back.
