U.K.'s May calls for life sciences support

At a conference in Birmingham, U.K., Prime Minister Theresa May told Conservative Party members the administration will do everything it can to "encourage, develop and support" the life sciences industry and other sectors that are of "strategic importance" to the nation's economy.

May said valuable industries should be promoted through "policies on trade, tax, infrastructure, skills, training, and research and development," but did not lay out specific plans in her comments.
