Patient sample, cell culture and mouse studies suggest TRAIL-overexpressing adipose-derived stem cells could help treat glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). In GBM cells from patients, co-culture with human adipose-derived stem cells engineered to overexpress TRAIL increased apoptosis compared with co-culture with unmodified adipose stem cells.
