Cell and mouse studies suggest GHRH receptor antagonists could help treat malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM). In two human-derived MPM cell lines and patient-derived MPM cells, two previously identified GHRH receptor antagonists inhibited growth with IC50 values of 2.35-3.92 μM. In a xenograft mouse model of MPM, subcutaneous delivery of the compounds decreased tumor growth compared with vehicle. Next steps could include testing the compounds in additional models of MPM...
