Deerfield's latest academic investment: $100M for Harvard therapeutics

Deerfield Management announced its sixth umbrella deal with an academic partner in the past 18 months, this time committing $100 million to a subsidiary focused on developing therapeutics from Harvard University.
The new subsidiary, Lab1636, is wholly owned by Deerfield affiliates. A joint advisory committee with representation from both partners will choose discovery projects from Harvard PIs to fund through IND and potentially into the clinic.
