Cytovant launches with Asia focus, Medigene deal

Roivant and its Sinovant affiliate launched Cytovant, a new company that will seek to develop treatments for diseases prevalent in Asia. The newco also obtained a license in Asian territories to four T cell immunotherapy programs from Medigene AG (Xetra:MDG1).

The deal gives Cytovant Sciences Ltd. (Hong Kong, China) rights in Greater China, South Korea and Japan to two therapies: a preclinical T cell immunotherapy targeting NY-ESO-1, and a dendritic cell vaccine containing WT1 and PRAME that is in a Phase I/II trial to treat acute myelogenous leukemia (AML).
