Conway named CMO at CMS

Patrick Conway was selected to be CMS's next chief medical officer after Barry Straube stepped down in January, according to a source at CMS. Conway will come into the job with greater Washington experience than previous CMOs at the agency. He is CMO in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation at HHS, and was the former director of HHS's Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. He also served as executive director of the Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research from 2009-10. ...
