SCOTUS: no expedited review for healthcare challenge

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday said it will not conduct an expedited review of a suit alleging that a provision in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is unconstitutional. In February, Virginia Attorney General Kenneth Cuccinelli filed a petition asking the court to review the suit before it could be reviewed by the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. In December, a judge in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia ruled that the act's provision requiring all citizens to maintain a minimum level of health insurance is unconstitutional. Cuccinelli said in a statement that "this case's logical end point is the Supreme Court. It will simply have to make its way through the Fourth Circuit first." ...
