Pharma up ahead of special election results

Shares of pharma companies gained on Tuesday in anticipation of results from the heavily contested Massachusetts Senate seat race, where a victory by Republican Scott Brown could disrupt the Democrats' filibuster-proof majority ahead of a crucial vote for healthcare reform. The NYSE Arca Pharmaceutical Index was up 2% on Tuesday. Of the gainers, Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE) was up $0.51 (3%) to $20, while Eli Lilly and Co. (NYSE:LLY) rose $1.59 (4%) to $37.41. ...
