Senate seeks FDA funding boost

Sen. Herb Kohl (D-Wis.), chairman of the Senate Appropriations Agriculture Subcommittee, said he added provisions to an emergency supplemental appropriations bill that would boost FDA's fiscal year 2008 appropriated budget by $275 million to about $2 billion. The extra funding would include $100 million for medical product and drug safety activities and $40 million for FDA science and workforce training. ...
