ChemGemex raises $11.5 million

ChemGenex (ASX:CXS; CXSP) raised A$15 million (US$11.5 million) through a private placement of 34.9 million shares at A$0.43. Investors included existing shareholders Merck KGaA (FSE:MRK) and Charter Pacific. CXS also plans to raise up to A$5 million through a share purchase plan (SPP), in which Australian shareholders may participate at the same price as the private placement.
