Crawford confirmed

The Senate confirmed Lester Crawford as FDA commissioner Monday in a 78-16 vote. Sens. Michael Enzi (R-Wyo.), Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) and Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) strongly endorsed Crawford, while Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) condemned Crawford, blaming him for "structural, personnel, cultural and scientific problems" at FDA. Hatch accused Congress of treating "FDA like a wicked step sister instead of giving it the resources it needs" for postmarketing drug safety surveillance. ...
