Shire beats Street

Shire (LSE:SHP; SHPGY) posted first quarter earnings per ADS of $0.46, beating by $0.04 the Street consensus of $0.42 and up 23% from the same quarter of 2003. SHP's first quarter revenues increased 7% to $326.3 million, helped by $56.1 million in royalty revenue, up 18% from the same period last year.
