Encapsulated xenografts of adrenal tissue that secrete pain modulators into the spinal cord or brain data

Implants of calf adrenal gland chromaffin cells caused no host tissue reaction nor any complications in 10 patients tested, seven of whom showed improvement in terms of needing less narcotics to control pain, according to data presented by the Providence, R.I., company at the meeting of the Society for Neuroscience in Miami.
