Data Bytes: NIH awards seven contracts for pandemic digital health tools

NIH has awarded contracts to six companies and one academic institution to develop digital health solutions that address the COVID-19 pandemic. The National Cancer Institute (NCI) and the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) picked the seven projects from a pool of nearly 200.
The contracts will be awarded in two phases, which the awardees will have one year to complete. Phase I involves demonstrating feasibility of the planned project. If an awardee’s program is deemed feasible, a contractual option for Phase II will provide additional funding to demonstrate utility in responding to the pandemic. ...
