Silvis, chief of staff for former FDA Commissioner Gottlieb, joins Biden’s COVID response team

The Biden administration has hired Lauren Silvis to serve as a consultant to its COVID-19 response team, the initiative that is continuing Operation Warp Speed’s pandemic medical countermeasures development activities, an HHS official told BioCentury. She will focus on vaccines.

The appointment brings regulatory expertise and a link to one of the few Trump administration officials who is widely respected across the political spectrum.
