Abernethy brings deep experience to Verily as firm readies to build ‘evidence generation platform’ 

Amy Abernethy has become the second high-profile FDA veteran to join Verily in the past three years. She joins FDA Commissioner Rob Califf, who arrived at the company in November 2019, and heads clinical strategy and policy for Verily and its affiliate Google Health.

Abernethy, the former No. 2 at FDA, will serve as  Verily Life Sciences LLC’s president of clinical research business to lead the company’s expansion into a “full-scale clinical evidence generation platform” that supports clinical trials and real-world evidence studies.
