Pfizer names McKinsey vet Malik to succeed Young

Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE) has tapped Aamir Malik to succeed EVP and CBO John Young, whom the pharma said last month is preparing to retire after 34 years. Malik's role will span strategy, business development, portfolio management, pipeline prioritization, new business ventures and market access. Malik, a 24-year veteran of McKinsey & Co. who most recently served as managing partner, will become Pfizer’s EVP and chief business innovation officer, joining the executive leadership team.

Philippe Deecke will join Lonza Group Ltd. (SIX:LONN) as CFO on Dec. 1; he will succeed Rodolfo Savitzky, who will take a role at another company. Deecke, a 16-year veteran of Novartis AG (NYSE:NVS; SIX:NOVN), is currently CFO at Novartis Oncology. Previously, he served as global CFO at the pharma’s Sandoz Ltd., as well as CFO of the EMEA division at Alcon Inc. (SIX:ALC; NYSE:ALC)...
