Novo Nordisk Foundation commits €300M to consortium of institutions in Copenhagen, Leiden and Melbourne
Research at stem cell institution reNEW will begin in January after the Novo Nordisk Foundation announced a nine-figure grant to jump-start the translational project at research centers in Europe and Australia.
The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Stem Cell Medicine will be established as a consortium among the University of Copenhagen, Australia’s Murdoch Children’s Research Institute and Leiden University Medical Center in the Netherlands, which has built a cell therapy focus since performing Europe’s first pediatric bone marrow transplant in 1968.
