PerkinElmer vet Mock becomes CFO at Moderna

James Mock will become CFO at Moderna Inc. (NASDAQ:MRNA) on Sept. 6, succeeding David Meline who will retire on the same date but remain as a consultant to assist the transition. Mock was most recently SVP and CFO at PerkinElmer Inc. (NYSE:PKI), and previously held several roles at General Electric Co. (NYSE:GE). Meline attempted to retire as Moderna CFO this year, but was called back when the company’s prior choice of successor, Jorge Gomez, left his position after only two days following the disclosure of an investigation at his former employer. 

Uplaksh Kumar will join Foresite Capital as venture partner and become COO at the VC’s incubator, Foresite Labs. Kumar was SVP of strategic operations and scale at Grail Inc., and the first head of operations at Verily Life Sciences LLC. Foresite Labs has incubated several start-ups including Alumis Inc., Interline Therapeutics Inc., TenSixteen Bio Inc. and Sestina Bio LLC...
