With Connor leaving, GSK reorganizes roles in vaccine division

GlaxoSmithKline plc (LSE:GSK; NYSE:GSK) reshuffled its vaccine business as part of an initiative to simplify operations after spinning out its consumer health business and to reflect the departure of President of Vaccines and Global Health Roger Connor, a GSK spokesperson confirmed to BioCentury. A successor for Connor, who is leaving GSK after almost 25 years for a role outside the biopharma industry, was not named — instead, Chief Commercial Officer Luke Miels will be responsible for strategic commercial product development of vaccines, and President Global Supply Chain Regis Simard will be responsible for supply of both vaccines and medicines. Deborah Waterhouse, CEO of HIV company ViiV Healthcare Ltd., will assume overall accountability for GSK Global Health. The changes bring “together our medicines and vaccines manufacturing networks, and equivalent commercial operations, in one place, the spokesperson said.
