Walensky resigning as CDC director

Rochelle Walensky announced her resignation from CDC, effective the end of June. Walensky was chief of the division of infectious diseases at Massachusetts General Hospital and professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School prior to her appointment as director by President Biden in January 2021. A successor to Walensky was not announced.
Transgene S.A. (Euronext:TNG) Chairman Alessandro Riva will take on the CEO role, effective June 1, following the retirement of CEO Hedi Ben Brahim. The company also announced it would regain the rights to an oncolytic virus candidate that had been licensed to AstraZeneca plc (LSE:AZN; NASDAQ:AZN), which terminated a 2019 collaboration between the two companies following a pipeline review.
