2023 — a year in which the gloom of the capital markets was matched by a boom in innovation. This was an unequivocally terrible year for finance, and a relatively bad one for the industry on the public policy front. But it was an excellent year for proof of principle that the biopharma industry can take concepts from lab to patient, and produce groundbreaking treatments with societal impact. Moreover, it didn’t take a pandemic to demonstrate that.
