Biosecure Act hits turbulence

Exclusion from defense authorization bill is not the end of the road for anti-China legislation

The Biosecure Act, which has floated through Congress, buoyed by bipartisan anti-China sentiment, protectionist impulses and concerns about supply chain vulnerabilities, has hit some turbulence. While the sense of inevitability has diminished, enactment this year of the Biosecure Act (H.R. 8333) or something like it is very likely.
