Promotions for Flagship’s Afzelius, Biondi come amid $3.6B raise

Alongside its new $3.6 billion fund, Flagship Pioneering announced several new appointments and promotions on Wednesday, including those of Lovisa Afzelius and Paul Biondi to general partner. Afzelius joined the firm in 2020 as origination partner and Biondi joined in 2019 as executive partner.

Flagship also highlighted several recent hires, including two executive partners: Dina Ciarimboli, who is general counsel, and Chief Strategist Gary Pisano. Ciarimboli joined Flagship from EQRx Inc., where she was general counsel. Pisano, a “long-time contributor” to the firm, served as academic partner to Flagship while on sabbatical as a professor of business administration at Harvard Business School. ...
