President-elect Donald Trump announced on TruthSocial that he plans to nominate Jay Bhattacharya as director of NIH. Bhattacharya is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economics Research and a professor of health policy at Stanford University, where he directs the university’s Center for Demography and Economics of Health and Aging. Like the president-elect’s picks to lead FDA and HHS, Bhattacharya has been critical of NIH’s COVID policies.
