Bourla becomes chair of PhRMA

Albert Bourla has become chair of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), with Paul Hudson becoming chair-elect and Robert Davis treasurer. Bourla, CEO of Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE), criticized the Biden administration at a forum of pharmaceutical industry leaders this week; at the event, the leadership of both PhRMA and BIO refrained from protesting the recent mass firings at government public health agencies, including at FDA, NIH, CDC and CMS.

Hudson is CEO of Sanofi (Euronext:SAN; NASDAQ:SNY) and Davis is chairman and CEO of Merck & Co. Inc. (NYSE:MRK). Bourla succeeds Daniel O’Day, chairman and CEO of Gilead Sciences Inc. (NASDAQ:GILD)...
