Trump signals support for ending ‘pill penalty,’ hints at reference pricing

President Donald Trump committed his administration to working with Congress to eliminate the Inflation Reduction Act’s “pill penalty,” and set in motion a pilot program aimed at regulating prices of high-cost prescription drugs and biologics covered by Medicare, including those not covered under Medicare’s existing drug price negotiation program.
