Planned FDA reorg could cause train wreck, former agency leaders say

Janet Woodcock has a warning for FDA Commissioner Marty Makary and HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.: “Most government reorganizations fail.” She would know. Over four decades in FDA leadership, Woodcock helped design and implement numerous reorganizations with varying degrees of success and watched as others struggled.

The goals are always laudable — increasing efficiency and eliminating wasteful redundancy top the lists — but the results often don’t live up to the promises...
