Trading volume on Hong Kong’s biotech chapter is up in 2025

Chapter 18A stocks see increasing liquidity on Hong Kong stock exchange

Trading volumes appear to be on the rise for stocks listed on Chapter 18A of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, reserved for pre-profit biopharma and medical device companies. As of Friday’s close, the average daily trading volume per company was 4.1 million so far in 2Q25, up from 3.3 million in 1Q25 and 2.4 million in 4Q24. The overall average for 2024 was 1.7 million.
