Alpha neutrotoxin-binding mAb for venomous snake bites

A mAb targeting long-chain α-neurotoxins could help treat venomous bites by elapid snakes.

A phage display screen of human antibodies containing shuffled light chains and the heavy chain of a previously identified mAb against α-cobratoxin identified antibodies that bound multiple snake venoms; mass spectrometry screening of top hits identified a mAb that bound at least seven different α-neurotoxins, and the mAb prevented α-cobratoxin-induced current inhibition in a human cell line. ...
