Targeting ARHGAP11A for Alzheimer's disease
Targeting the Ras homolog ARHGAP11A could help treat Alzheimer's disease by decreasing expression of disease-associated proteins and induction of apoptosis.
Analysis of publicly available data sets showed hippocampal ARHGAP11A mRNA levels were higher in patients with Alzheimers's disease than healthy elderly controls, and serum protein levels of ARHGAP11A were higher in patients with mild cognitive impairment than healthy controls, with even higher levels in Alzheimer's patients.
